Nice Bum, Where Ya From?

I'm totally diggin Massachusetts so far, and will be raving about it for the rest of this post. First of all, our camp is located on a total hippie campus. Apparently, the average Hampshire College student gets high at least twice a day. Which explains why things like "majors" and "grades" don't really apply here. The suites are pretty cool, I've got my own room and then we have a common room and a kitchen (that we can't use) downstairs. All the vegetables we eat are locally grown and instead of trashcans at lunch, we have a compost. But Hampshire is a private school and it costs somethin like 60 grand a year to go here. oooooof.

Best part of this campus? I'm a 5 minute walk from the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. hell yes.
I was taken on a tour of Amherst and Northampton yesterday. Amherst was pretty cool. We went to this place called Crazy Noodles and I gotta Thai Iced Bubble Tea. dee-lish. thenn we went into Newbury Comics, which I've never heard of before but apparently they're all over the east coast. It's like a glorified toy/music store. I dig.

but ohhhemgee, I already want to live in Northampton. It's this cute city lined with a buncha small shops and boutiques. Unfortunately, everything closes pretty early, so I didn't get to explore a whole lot inside. I'm plannin on spending my next day off in Northampton and shopping my ass off! but anyway, we went out there for sushi, which was amazing as usual. And then we went to Herrel's for ice cream. I got Rum Cake Batter ice cream and it was like heaven in a cone, seriously.

basically, I'm still definitely loving it here. I'm overwhelmed by how much I want to do on my days off! The campers get here tomorrow. My division has the 16-17 year old girrrls. haha, we'll see how that goes!
